TRAVERSE CITY — Joshua Burnham, a Traverse City native and standout player for the Notre Dame football team, has announced his departure from the Fighting Irish to enter the transfer portal. He made the announcement on his Instagram account last night.
Burnham has been a key player for Notre Dame, participating in 40 games where he accumulated 65 tackles and six sacks. He has one year of eligibility remaining, which makes his decision significant as the Fighting Irish prepare for future seasons.
Burnham played high school football at Traverse City Central before joining Notre Dame, establishing himself as a crucial fixture on the college roster. His contributions on the field have garnered attention and his departure is expected to impact the team’s dynamics moving forward.
In his Instagram post, Burnham expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the Notre Dame program.
He thanked his coaches for their support both on and off the field, as well as his teammates and family.
