MCKINNEY, TEXAS — The Ferris State University Bulldogs won their fourth NCAA D2 National Championship in five years, defeating Harding University 42-21 on Saturday in McKinney, Texas.
With this victory, Ferris State concluded their season with a perfect 16-0 record, marking the first time in the modern era of college football that either an NCAA Division I or II team finished the season undefeated.
The Bulldogs also set an all-time NCAA scoring record, finishing the year with 844 total points.

The Bulldogs dominated the championship game, especially on the ground, accumulating 363 rushing yards and scoring four rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Wyatt Bower stood out, scoring two rushing touchdowns and completing 10 of 16 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns.
Chase Carter contributed significantly to the Bulldogs’ success, rushing for 111 yards on seven carries and adding a touchdown.
The team’s defense also played a crucial role, particularly with fumble recoveries that were converted into scores.
In the first quarter, the Bulldogs took command with an early lead, which they maintained despite Harding’s efforts to close the gap. Bower’s performance was key, demonstrating effective leadership throughout the game.
Tony Annese, head coach of Ferris State, expressed his pride upon winning the championship.
“It’s unbelievable that we did it again and I’m so proud of our players and staff for what they have accomplished,” Annese said.
Harding University finished their remarkable season with a 15-one record, reflecting their competitive spirit in the championship.
The victory extended Ferris State’s winning streak to 30 consecutive games, showcasing their dominance in college football.
