BATTLE CREEK- The 55-4-1 Kingsley Stags got past top-ranked Roscommon and Traverse City St. Francis in the playoffs to reach the state semifinal game, where they’d have another tough test in Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central. St. Mary won the Division 3 title last season.
Kingsley would be down to their final point on two separate occasions in the fifth and final set, but would rally to win and advance. They now play in the state finals on Saturday in Battle Creek against Kalamazoo Christian.
