KENTWOOD — Leland had a chance to advance to the Division 4 State Championship game on Wednesday with a Semifinal matchup against Grandville Calvin Christian.
It’s the Comets’ third State Semis appearance in the last four seasons, but they have been unable to reach the State Championship game since they took home the state title in 2018.
To reach this point, the Comets cruised through their three District games by a combined score of 12-2 and got past Saginaw Valley Lutheran and North Muskegon each by a score of 1-0 in regionals.
