LUDINGTON- Charlie Gunsell of Ludington High School was named the Detroit Lions High School Coach of the Week for Week 7 of the high school football season.
Ludington’s 32-7 win over Whitehall was the 100th of Gunsell’s career, and locked up at least a share of a conference title for the Orioles.
Gunsell is in his 22nd season at the helm, and announced this year would be his last.
He’s taken the team to the playoffs in 7 of their last 10 seasons, and the Orioles are off to their best start since 1989. They are currently ranked 9th in Division 4 and will look to improve to 8-0 on Friday against Muskegon Orchard View.
