GRAND RAPIDS- The Detroit Tigers have a top-10 farm system in the MLB, according to both ESPN and BLB rankings. On Tuesday, their High-A affiliate proved that to be true, claiming the Midwest League Championship for the first time since 2015.
The team finished the season 92-35 with the best run differential of any team in all of pro baseball. The Tigers’ three top prospects, Max Clark, Josue Briceno, and Kevin McGonigle, were promoted to Double-A in early July, but the Whitecaps went 38-13 without them and went on to win the championship.
