MOUNT PLEASANT- The Matt Drinkall era got off to a tremendous start with a 16-14 win over San Jose State in Week 1. It was the Chippewas first road win since 2023, snapping a ten game streak, and Drinkall is the first CMU head coach to win their debut since 2010.
