SAULT STE. MARIE- The Sault Ste. The Marie Blue Devils football team is under new leadership this year, following the retirement of previous head coach Scott Menard after 19 seasons.
This year, the Blue Devils have Maurice Young in charge. Young was the offensive coordinator under Menard last year in a season that saw the Blue Devils win only one game. They now are looking to rebuild and get the program back on track. The last time the blue and white made the playoffs was in 2020. The team prepared for a tough Big North Conference schedule with a scrimmage against Boyne City today.
The Blue Devils travel to Cheboygan on August 29th to start the new season.
