MOUNT PLEASANT - Mount Pleasant head football coach and athletic director, Jason McIntyre, will be inducted into the Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in June. McIntyre has been at the helm in Mount Pleasant for 19 years, with the fall of 2025 expected to be his 20th. He’s led the Oilers to the playoffs in 17 of the last 19 years, capturing 5 district titles and 2 regionals. The Oilers even went on an incredible undefeated streak during the regular season between the 2008 and 2012 seasons. McIntyre talked about the honor of being recognized by his peers.
“I was kind of blown away, to be honest. I’ve been involved in our association for a long time and know a lot of the guys involved. A lot of guys were in the Hall of Fame, and I look up to them and it doesn’t really seem like I kind of belong in that group. But it was pretty humbling. And, just to know that other coaches felt that way about me,” said McIntyre. “The credits really, I mean, the players have bought in, right, you try to set a standard and you try to guide them, to what it should be, and then they have to buy in, and they have to believe in it, our guys have from day one, I’m just so thankful for them.”
The hall of fame banquet will be on June 20th in Detroit.
