Mio’s Mia McGregor named division 4 player of the year in back-to-back seasons

MIO - Mio sophomore Mia McGregor has won the division 4 player of the year for the 2nd straight season. She averaged 39 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steal, 5 assists, and just under 4 blocks a game this past season as she led Mio to a district title. McGregor already has the school points record at Mio with over 1550 points already as just a sophomore. As a freshman she set state scoring records averaging over 41 points per game, and she talked about what it meant to her to be named the back-to-back player of the year in division 4.

“I’m super grateful for that honor. It’s super cool to bring that to our community and everything.” Said McGregor. “It’s awesome to bring that back because I think it was four years ago or three years ago, we didn’t have a team, so it’s great to have like some honor and recognition come to our school.”

The AAU season has already started for McGregor and she’s hoping to lead the thunderbolts on a deeper run in 2026.
