Olivia Flynn named division 3 player of the year

HARBOR SPRINGS - Last week Harbor Springs senior Olivia Flynn was named the division 3 player of the year in the state of Michigan. The Western Michigan commit averaged just over 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in her senior year while shooting just about 55% from the field. Flynn led Harbor Springs to a 22-3 record and division title this past season, and her career she’s amassed over 2,300 points.

She talked about the moment she found out about the honor and what it meant to her.

“My parents sent it to me, and I read the article. I feel so honored. I worked hard, the last four years at Harbor. So just to leave my mark in Division three basketball here in Michigan is just amazing.” Flynn said. “Definitely putting Northern Michigan on the map and just trying to inspire young girls in Northern Michigan that it’s possible that if you work hard and dream big, you can make it happen and never give up on your dreams.”

Flynn will begin her collegiate career at Western Michigan next year.
