TAMPA BAY - The Michigan Wolverines beat the Alabama Crimson Tide 19-13 in the Reliaquest bowl on Tuesday afternoon.
The first quarter went just about as well as Michigan could’ve hoped, the Wolverines knocked through a field goal. The Wolverines forced 3 turnovers after that, resulting in 13 points as they added 2 more field goals and a touchdown as Michigan started the 2nd quarter up 16-0.
Alabama would get on the board in the 2nd quarter with just about 4 minutes left to make the score 16-7. The Crimson Tide also added a field goal before the end of the half for a halftime score of 16-10, Michigan in the lead.
There was scoring in the 3rd quarter, but in the 4th, Michigan made a field goal to make it 19-10 but Alabama responded with a field goal of their own to make it 19-13. It came down to one final drive, and the Wolverines defense were able to step up to the task stopping Alabama to secure the 19-13 win.
