TRAVERSE CITY- Today Traverse City West students made their way to Peace Ranch to deliver money collected from this year’s Patriot Game in Traverse City.
Each year beneficiaries are selected that help and provide services to veterans, Peace Ranch was one of two recipients this year.
The ranch serves children through adults by providing equine therapy targeted at veterans but available to all.
Founder of Peace Ranch Jackie Kaschel says this money will go a long way.
“We were really honored to be selected. Part of our team, I think we were nominated by students, so it was a total surprise for us” (Kaschel).
“In my life, it’s like, just having, someone to talk to, have something to talk to and get those emotions and feelings out, and then, build confidence. And the horses help them to work through, different things that they’re carrying in their body that need to come out PTSD, anger, stuff like that” (Courtney Mogul, Veteran, caretaker at Peace Ranch).
The other beneficiary, Reining Liberty Horse Ranch, will receive their check from TCC students on December 19th.
