ANN ARBOR(CBS)-- After one season as Michigan’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, the school announced Tuesday that Kirk Campbell has been fired.
Campbell was hired on as quarterbacks coach in 2023 and was elevated to offensive coordinator after the departure of Jim Harbaugh and elevation of Sherrone Moore.
This year Michigan ranked 128th in total offense, and 130th in passing offense nationally to pair with the teams’ 7-5 record.
“This was a decision that I felt was in the best interest of our football program. I want to thank Kirk for his hard work and dedication to the university, Michigan football and our student-athletes. I wish him well in his future coaching endeavors” (Sherrone Moore).
Tight ends coach Steve Casula will serve as the interim coordinator while the program searches for a new coordinator.
