Frankfort Girls eyeing a repeat deep playoff run this season

FRANKFORT-- The Frankfort Panthers made a run all the way to the final four last year, and believe they have what it takes to make it back.

It was the deepest postseason run for the Panthers since the 2014-2015 season. They finished the year 22-6 after falling to Kingston in the semis.

While they lost four seniors from last year’s squad, the Panthers feel confident in their chemistry and abilities, and will still return three starters that head coach Tim Reznich says he will rely on to help the newer girls.

“We’re going to do a lot of the same things, but I think, when it comes down to it, I think we may be more athletic this year than last year.

You know, last year’s team, it was fun. I could see the improvement every day. And so far with this group I see the same thing. So if we keep working it out that way, you know, I think we’ll be ready for the tournament. And, and we should have a pretty successful regular season” (Reznich).

Junior point guard Willa Roth repeated the sentiment.

“It’d be really nice to get back to where we were last year. I know we went to the Final four. Our team is looking pretty strong, so there’s probably a possibility that we will we just need to work at, like, being together as a team, because this is a pretty young team, and not all of them have played up before” (Roth).

The Panthers first game will be December 12th on the road against Buckley.
