Charlevoix dedicates and names athletic complex after Pete Spieles

CHARLEVOIX-- Over the past weekend Charlevoix paid tribute to longtime legendary head coach Pete Spieles.

All Charlevoix athletic facilities were dedicated and renames in his honor in front of Spieles himself, and alongside family friends and former players.

Spieles served as the Cross-Country head coach from 1976-1991 and during that time won seven state championships in a span of ten years.

He would later go on to establish the Charlevoix baseball program, staying on as head coach for six seasons and winning two conference and district championships.

He also established the girls Cross Country team, won 14 CC conference championships, two-time state runners up, two-time girls cross country champion, and won a total of 106 baseball games.
