MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan Chippewas are preparing for their first road test of the season as they go on the road to play Florida International University in the inaugural game at Pitbull Stadium.
The Chippewas have lost four road games in a row, dating back to last season, but do come into Saturday’s game favored by a touchdown. CMU has played FIU once before, in 2021 with the Chippewas getting the win, and they’re going to control what they can in this road matchup.
“You know, looking at us a year ago, I’m sure they’re probably thinking, you know, this is one that they probably got a pretty good chance to win. So, we’ve got to go change the way they think a little bit. And for us, we’re really not playing against anybody but the Chippewas,” said CMU head coach Jim McElwain.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Miami.
