Elk Rapids and Benzie Central faced off in a conference game to open up the season. It was a dogfight from the opening kick, each team not giving an inch on defense, and turning the ball over on offense.
Elk Rapids was able to capitalize on a Benzie fumble early in the second quarter and score, proving to be the only points necessary.
Elk Rapids defeats the Huskies 7-2.
The Huskies take on Lansing Eastern and the Elks play Boyne City next week.
