Gladwin's young group has high hopes for the 2024 season

GLADWIN - The Gladwin Flying G’s enter the 2024 season with a young team, as they look for a deeper playoff run in 2024. The Flying G’s season in 2023 ended at Ogemaw Heights in the district semifinal. The 2022 division 5 state champions now have just one remaining starter from that group, but Gladwin does return their starting quarterback and running back from last season. The Flying G’s offensive line is completely new, but they are ready for a tough season in the big school division of the Jack Pine Conference.

“Absolutely no weeks off. And I think that, you know, that’s really good for us. Making the season worthwhile and and having those competitive games in and out. And then when you get to the playoffs, you’re certainly if you’re healthy still, you know, after a slugfest, you know games that you got, you’re certainly going to be prepared,” said Gladwin head coach Marc Jarstfer.

Gladwin opens their season at home against Flint Carman-Ainsworth on Thursday.
