North American VASA board brings on 2 new race directors for 2025

TRAVERSE CITY — The North American VASA board announced two new race directors for next year’s event.

Cliff Onthank and Ken Dawson will work together to oversee a dozen races over two days in February, including skiing, fat-biking and snowshoeing. Cliff and Ken are no strangers, having competed in over 50 VASA races between the two of them.

“They’re going to be the ones who are leading the charge, responsible for all the logistics, and they’re bringing on some new ideas,” said board president Bryan Beauchamp. “We’re going to recognize some of the history of the organization that’s coming up on our 48th annual event, and just make sure that we are meeting the expectations of the ski community, and that we are a destination ski race for the Midwest and hopefully, even more broadly, across the nation.”

Registration for all races is currently expected to open after Labor Day. You can find more information on the North American VASA website.
