NEWAYGO – The Morley Stanwood girls basketball team put up with a battle from Newaygo early before pulling away to win, 63-33.
The Mohawks held just a slim 16-15 lead after one quarter of play but outscored the Lions 47-18 for the remainder of the game to claim the win.
Morley Stanwood (7-2, 4-1 CSAA) will host Carson City-Crystal on Tuesday, while Newaygo (2-8, 1-4 CSAA) will host Muskegon Orchard View on Tuesday night.
