SAULT SAINTE MARIE – The Maplewood Baptist Black Bears won the Northern Lights League Volleyball Tournament on Friday, defeating Mackinac Island 2-0 in the League Championship Match.
Maplewood Baptist led after pool play, going 11-1, ahead of Ojibwe Charter at 8-4, Mackinac Island at 7-5 and Beaver Island at 7-5.
The Black Bears now turn their attention to the MHSAA Playoffs, which they begin next week by hosting Newberry on Tuesday night.
