The Grant girls basketball program will have new leadership next season, and it’s a familiar face to the program.
Former Grant boys basketball coach Josh Delamater is returning to the varsity level and taking over the reins of the girls program.
Delamater spent the previous two years coaching boys basketball at the JV level, along with coaching middle school boys and girls hoops.
Delamater feels it will be a smooth coaching transition for him.
“The reason that this position is something that I pursued is because I’ve been coaching middle school girls basketball for the past two years,” Delamater said. “I had coached middle school girls I think four years previously. And I’ve coached middle school track, so I’ve worked a lot with girls in the middle school programs. You know, a lot of girls were like hey, you should coach the varsity since you’re not coaching the varsity boys anymore.”
Delamater says Grant’s 2020-21 roster will feature a young group, ready to improve on last season’s 5-16 mark.
