Eric Lloyd
Eric is the chief political reporter. He joined 9&10 News originally in May 2010. He covered the most beautiful part of the state for nearly five years before heading to Grand Rapids to work for the ABC affiliate.
After three years in Grand Rapids, he returned to 9&10 News to focus on politics and the lower end of the Northern Michigan viewing area. He is very excited to be back covering the towns and people he grew to care for nearly a decade ago.
In his career he has interviewed three governors, two presidents, every major college coach in the state and some of the most interesting people Michigan has to offer. He's been to the top of the Mackinac Bridge, stood in the middle of a frozen Lake Michigan, held a hibernating bear, once covered stories in a single day from the coast of three Great Lakes and everything in between.
Eric graduated from Central Michigan University where he studied broadcast and cinematic arts, journalism and sport studies. He was a member of the lacrosse team and worked for the award winning, student-run newscast, News Central 34. While in school Eric also interned at WLNS, a CBS affiliate in Lansing. Eric was born in Detroit and raised in Redford and South Lyon, Michigan.
He is an avid sports fan, loves music, trivia and television and has found new loves for running and reading. He is married to his beautiful wife Amber and they have two boys, Ziggy and Beau. When he has free time he is always looking to try new things and meet interesting people.
Eric is a big time supporter of Special Olympics and for the last four years has been a member of the Wertz Warriors, the endurance snowmobile group that raises money to pay for the Special Olympics Michigan State Winter Games in Traverse City.
