KC and the Sunshine Band to perform at National Cherry Festival centennial

TRAVERSE CITY — KC and the Sunshine Band will perform live at the 100th National Cherry Festival on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. The concert is scheduled to take place at the Pepsi Bayside Music Stage in Traverse City.

The 2026 event marks the centennial anniversary of the National Cherry Festival. The celebration honors Northern Michigan’s cherry industry and community traditions through events held along the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay.

KC and the Sunshine Band are known for their signature mix of disco, funk and soul. The group delivered several major hits during the 1970s, including “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s the Way (I Like It)” and “Boogie Shoes.” The band has earned multiple Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and Billboard chart-toppers throughout their career.

Kat Paye, executive director of the National Cherry Festival, noted the group’s reputation for high-energy shows. “We are beyond excited to welcome KC and the Sunshine Band to Traverse City,” Paye said. “Their legendary hits and high-energy performance are the perfect way to celebrate summer and give our Festival fans a night to remember.”

Tickets for the performance vary in price based on the seating section. General admission tickets are $53. Premium reserved seating is available for between $60 and $87 depending on the location of the seat. Access to the GT Band EDC VIP Deck is priced at $178.

The concert will be held at the Pepsi Bayside Music Stage, which is presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and nine&10 News. Additional support for the venue is provided by Jim Beam and Bell’s Brewery.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Fans can purchase them through the festival’s official website at cherryfestival.org.
