GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY — Vendor applications for the East Bay Corners Farmers Market will open March 16 for local farmers, food producers and artisans. The 2026 market season is scheduled to begin on June 4.
The market is held weekly on Thursdays at the East Bay Township Offices located at 1965 N. 3 Mile Road in Traverse City. It is operated through a partnership between East Bay Township and SEEDS Ecology & Education Centers, an organization that manages the site and supports regional food systems.
The market will run every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning June 4. Located outdoors at the township offices, the event serves as a marketplace for fresh produce, prepared foods and handmade artisan goods. Participation is open to local farmers, food vendors and makers from across the region.
Family-oriented programming includes the Power of Produce Club, which is available for children ages 5 to 13. The club focuses on teaching children about gardening and healthy eating habits through direct interaction with local farmers. Each participant in the program receives a weekly coupon to spend on items at the market.
Organizers have integrated several food assistance initiatives to increase accessibility for community members. The market accepts SNAP and EBT benefits and is joining the Grand Traverse County Senior Produce Program for the 2026 season. These programs are intended to ensure fresh, local food reaches all residents in the area.
East Bay Township is a charter township in Grand Traverse County with a population of approximately 11,600 people. Officials describe the market as a way to celebrate the regional agricultural heritage and support the local food economy. The township is situated along the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay and maintains a focus on balancing growth with the preservation of natural spaces.
Nathan Burns serves as the facilities and recreation coordinator for the township and is the primary contact for the market. Prospective vendors can find more information about the requirements and the selection process on the township’s dedicated food security webpage.
Vendor applications will be available online starting March 16. The market will officially open for the season on Thursday, June 4.
