REED CITY — Celebration Park, a pocket park featuring a splash pad for kids, a concert performance stage, picnic tables, sun sails, and new bathrooms.

The park will even host outdoor events, including concerts every Thursday. The park’s name, Celebration Park, was declared at a recent city council meeting, marking a fitting tribute to Reed City’s 150th anniversary. The park is expected to be a hub of community activity, promoting social connections and a sense of community.

“It’s a place for people to gather. Have a community.” says Rich Saladin, the city’s manager. “There’s going to be little reading nooks and places just to have coffee or, you know, grab a pizza, grab a burger. Some of these downtown businesses come out here and eat outside and have your kids play in the play in the park. We’ve got brand new bathrooms, public bathrooms for people to use, so it’s just a great enhancement to our downtown.”

The grand opening of Celebration Park is expected to be in May.
