Manistee hosts inaugural Dune Jam with music, food, and fireworks

MANISTEE — The Manistee Amphitheater Foundation is announcing the lineup for the first-ever “Dune Jam,” a free day of music, food, and fireworks in the sky.

The event will kick off the public capital campaign for “The Dune,” a planned community amphitheater at the beach.

Performances include The Downtowners, Briar Payne Band, The Luke Winslow-King Trio, Domestic Problems, and Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers.

A drone show over the harbor will cap off the night while the Manistee Lion’s Famous Fish Boil will return from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Lion’s Pavilion after not being held for several years.

Organizers said the event is about more than entertainment, calling it the start of a new tradition and a major step toward building a venue.

“This lineup is killer,” said MAF Treasurer Noah Cameron, “We are so happy to be able to bring these bands together to celebrate the kickoff to our capital campaign drive.”

The event takes place on Saturday, June 20, at First Street Beach.
