LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is presenting “Joy & Whimsy,” a solo exhibition by Michigan artist Vicki Beyer, on view from March 8-28, 2026, in the Art Center’s Performance Hall Lobby Gallery.
An opening reception is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 6. The reception is free and open to the public.
The exhibition features Beyer’s acrylic and mixed media works that celebrate color, imagination and playful expression. Her art reflects the beauty found in nature and imagery drawn from her imagination, creating textured pieces intended to evoke curiosity, warmth and delight.
Beyer, who was born the third of eight children in rural Sparta, Michigan, said her earliest artistic influence was her father, who frequently doodled on his children. Those moments left a lasting impression and helped shape her view that simple tools like a pencil or brush could bring imagined worlds to life.

Beyer spent more than 30 years building a career as a registered nurse and has been painting since her teenage years. She has taken art courses and workshops since the early 1980s. “The excitement of creating never gets old,” she said.
Over the years, Beyer has exhibited and sold her work through galleries and art fairs in Michigan and Florida. Her artwork is currently available at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts gift shop and exhibitions in Ludington and at Artworks Painted Turtle in Big Rapids, Michigan.
