CADILLAC — With consistently low temperatures and snowfall, Caberfae Peaks Ski Resort sees a Stellar Season.
Caberfae Peaks Ski Resort is enjoying one of its best seasons in recent years, with manager Pete Meyer reporting over 130 inches of snowfall as of late February.
The resort attributed success to the consistent winter weather and lack of thaws in January and February. The season is shaping up to be similar to last year’s, which saw a slower start but a strong January and February.
“Started early. We opened Dec. 6. We were 100% open by Dec. 18,” Meyer said. “Snow started falling in late December and we got a ton of snow in the month of January. So much so that we had more than our season’s average by the end of January. So, we hit 120 inches by then. Now we’re over 130 inches. It’s just been a phenomenal ski season.”
Caberfae Peaks will remain open until March 29, with plenty of snow on the hill to last through the upcoming warm weather.
