ALPENA — Jacob Robert Hanna, 25, of Alpena, was arrested by the Michigan State Police for allegedly distributing sexually explicit material to a minor. Hanna also faces charges for using a computer to commit a crime.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Authorities initiated the probe after discovering that Hanna was distributing sexually explicit matter to a minor.
After getting a warrant, MSP investigators searched Hanna’s home. They say they seized digital evidence related to the case.
Hanna was formally charged with one count of distributing sexually explicit matter to a minor. He also faces one count of using a computer to commit a crime.
Following the charges, Hanna was arraigned in the 88th Judicial District Court. The court proceeding took place on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
