WEXFORD COUNTY — Two suspects charged in the homicide of Rebecca Park will appear at upcoming show cause hearings in late January.
Per Wexford County 84th District Court records, Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew have scheduled probable cause hearings set for 2 p.m. Feb. 27 at the 437 E. Division St. in Cadillac.
The two are charged in connection with the homicide of Rebecca Park. Charges include homicide, torture and conspiracy — among others.
The couple are seeking to have their case dismissed, alleging evidence is being withheld by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
At a Jan. 29 hearing, the judge addressed the missing evidence during today’s court appearance, stating that the materials are forthcoming.
During the proceedings, the judge also requested a separate hearing to investigate why a prosecutor from the Attorney General’s Office did not attend. The official had been requested to be present at the court today but did not show up.
The prosecutor is advocating for the case to proceed and for the defendants to remain held without bond.
A probable cause hearing for both Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew is scheduled for March 6 at 2 p.m.
A date for the hearing regarding the absent prosecutor has not been set.
