Traverse City Comedy Fest adds Megan Stalter and Sarah Sherman for April 16 kickoff show

TRAVERSE CITY — “Hacks” star Megan Stalter and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Sarah Sherman will kick off the 2026 Traverse City Comedy Fest with a co-headlining show Thursday, April 16, at the Park Place Hotel.

According to Traverse City Comedy Fest organizers, the kickoff show is scheduled for 8 p.m.

Tickets are $55 for general admission or $95 for VIP. Tickets for the show go on sale Monday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m.

Comedian Joe DeVito was also announced as a headliner for the 2026 event, with two performances planned at the Traverse City Comedy Club.

DeVito is scheduled to perform at 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 17 and at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18.

Tickets are $35 for general admission and go on sale Monday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m. at www.TraverseCityComedyFest.com. Traverse City Tourism is the presenting sponsor of the fourth annual Traverse City Comedy Fest.

Stalter is an Los Angeles-based actress, comedian and writer who appears as Kayla in the Max comedy series “Hacks,” which the release said is airing its fourth season. Stalter was listed by both Vulture and Variety as a 2020 Comic to Watch and has appeared in projects including Peacock’s “Queer As Folk” (2022), “Sometimes I Think About Dying” (2023), Chelsea Peretti’s Roku Original “First Time Female Director” (2024) and Julio Torres’ A24 feature “Problemista” (2024).

Stalter also appears in Lena Dunham’s Netflix series “Too Much. ”Sherman, also known as Sarah Squirm, is in her fifth season as a cast member on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”

Stalter co-starred with Adam Sandler in the Netflix film “You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!” in 2023 and is set to appear in the Sandler-produced Netflix feature “Roommates.”

Sherman was selected as a New Face at the 2021 Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and is known for her live show “Helltrap Nightmare.”

DeVito is a regular on FOX’s “Gutfeld!” and is also a contributing writer for the show. His TV appearances include “The Late Late Show,” “Comics Unleashed,” Comedy Central and AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live,” and that his Dry Bar Comedy special has more than 12 million views online.

Tickets are on sale now for the festival’s other headliners, including “The Daily Show” correspondent Roy Wood Jr. on Friday, April 17, and touring comic Gary Gulman on Saturday, April 18, both at the City Opera House.

The Traverse City Comedy Fest will include dozens of other shows and events during the three-day festival featuring comedians from across Michigan and the U.S., according to the release.

The full lineup of company comics will be announced Monday, Feb. 2.
