BIG RAPIDS —Ferris State women’s basketball made history Saturday night as Ferris State Bulldogs senior Kadyn Blanchard became the program’s all-time leading scorer in a dominant 90–59 win over Lake Superior State University.
Blanchard poured in 25 points pushing her career total to 1,724 points and surpassing the long-standing record set by Lucy DeMartin.
The nationally ranked No. 19 Bulldogs set the tone early, jumping out to a massive halftime lead and never looking back.
Ferris State’s defense fueled the rout, forcing turnovers and finishing the game with 19 steals.
It was a milestone night across the roster, as Mia Riley and Mya Hiram each reached the 1,000-point mark in their collegiate careers.
Hiram also posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, adding six assists and six steals to her standout performance.
The win moves Ferris State to 14–4 overall and 7–2 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.
The Bulldogs return home Monday to host Saginaw Valley State University at 5:30 p.m. inside Jim Wink Arena in Big Rapids.
