Evart launches website to track housing initiatives

EVART — A new website, HousingforEvart.com, is now live to help keep Evart residents and community members informed as local housing initiatives move forward.

According to a Jan 20 news release, the site includes background on current efforts to improve and expand housing in Evart including the planned redevelopment of Centennial Arms.

It will grow to include additional projects, including a proposed downtown housing and retail development that is in the early planning stages. The site also includes frequently asked questions and ways for residents to stay connected.

“This is an exciting time for Evart,” Mark Sochocki, executive director of the Evart Housing Commission, said. “We’re grateful to be working alongside so many great partners to invest in the future of our community. This site helps us keep residents in the loop and show what’s possible when we all work together.”

The Centennial Arms project will fully renovate 109 existing apartments and add 36 new homes while keeping rent affordable for local families and seniors. Construction has not yet begun but the project is progressing through predevelopment and planning stages.

“These projects are about meeting real needs in our community — whether that’s for seniors, working families, or local employers,” Patrick Tiedt, president of the Evart Housing Commission, said. “We want folks to see what’s happening, understand the impact, and get excited about Evart’s future.”
