WEXFORD COUNTY — Michael Joseph Caillouet, 47, of Cadillac, has been bound over to stand trial in the 28th Circuit Court of Wexford County for multiple counts of sexual abuse against a minor child and related charges, according to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
Caillouet faces serious allegations of sexually abusing a minor child between 2018 and 2019 and showing the child pornographic material. He was extradited to Wexford County from Butler County, Kan., in 2025 via the U.S. Marshals Service as part of Operation Survivor Justice.
At a preliminary examination, Judge Corey Wiggins of the 84th District Court bound Caillouet over on two counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (CSC) and one count of Exhibiting Sexually Explicit Material to a Minor. Following the examination, additional charges were added: two counts of First-Degree CSC, three counts of Second-Degree CSC and one additional count of Exhibiting Sexually Explicit Material to a Minor.
The Wexford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Caillouet in September 2025 after the alleged crimes were reported to the Michigan State Police in March of that year. The collaboration under Operation Survivor Justice aims to locate and apprehend fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants.
Nessel emphasized the significance of Operation Survivor Justice, stating, “Operation Survivor Justice continues to show just how important these partnerships are in locating and returning individuals with sexual assault warrants.”
Caillouet’s next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
