INTERLOCHEN — Deputies from the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office responded to an ATM alarm at about 2:10 a.m. Jan. 10 after the machine was damaged and pulled from its secure pedestal.
According to a Jan. 12 news release, deputies gathered information indicating chains were attached to a truck to pull the ATM loose in an effort to gain access to the money inside, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies located the truck a short distance from the bank and later determined it had been stolen from a residence in Mayfield Township, according to the sheriff’s office.
