Addiction Treatment Services to consolidate for improved client support

TRAVERSE CITY — Addiction Treatment Services plans to move all buildings to one campus to help save money, and help their clients.

After 50 years, ATS has obtained 11 building, including 6 recovery homes, however, they are scattered around Traverse City, making it difficult for people to get the help they need.

Director of Marketing and Fund Development Rachel Soulliere said that they currently we have the withdraw management facility on Eighth Street, with the next part of the program on the other side of the town.

She said that for people who can’t drive, it is a risk factor that they might leave the program when they leave the building.

ATS plans to sell off the recovery homes one by one, and use the proceeds to help buy, or build, a new campus now that the recovery home program is paused.

Soulliere said that they have had a few people reach out concerned, but they have plans in place to make up for the program pause.

ATS has new outpatient openings, are expanding telehealth., and have added on insurance that they are able to accept.

Previously, they mainly accepted Medicare, but now they can accept other types of insurance.

Soulliere adds that they are still in the first phases of the project, so many things are up in the air, like their budget, but will use 2026 to plan for a potential groundbreaking in 2027.

They will start working with architects, having sketches drawn up,a nd have completed a feasibility study with rotary charities.

She also encourages anyone with concerns to reach out to ATS with questions they have.
