UPS announces closure of Cadillac location, employee relocation efforts underway

WEXFORD COUNTY — A UPS location in Cadillac is set to close effective Feb. 27, 2026, as UPS carries out what it has described as the largest network reconfiguration in its history.

The UPS facility is at 1421 Edward Potthoff Street in Cadillac, according to UPS spokesperson Karen Tomaszewski Hill.

UPS said in a June 25 statement that the reconfiguration is intended to optimize network capacity to align with expected volume levels and enhance productivity through additional automation.

The changes will impact positions, but UPS said it is committed to supporting employees throughout the process, including working to place as many employees as possible in other positions.

“Our employees are extremely important to us, and we understand the impact this may have on them and their families. We are working to place as many employees as possible in other positions. We will work with those who may be impacted throughout the process to provide support,” Tomaszewski Hill said.

UPS said pickup and delivery services will remain unchanged.

“While our building footprint is changing, our record of reliable pickup and delivery is not,” Tomaszewski Hill said. “We remain committed to providing industry-leading service to customers in more than 200 countries and territories around the world.”
