TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse County Health Department on Thursday issued a request for participation for the Opioid Settlement Spending Advisory Committee, inviting community residents, organizations and stakeholders to help inform and guide Grand Traverse County opioid-related spending priorities.
The department said in a Jan. 8 news release that the committee will provide guidance and recommendations to address the impacts of opioid use through prevention, treatment, harm reduction, recovery supports and other community-informed strategies.
The request for participation outlines participation expectations, eligibility requirements and the application process, the department said.
The request opened Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026. Responses are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 6.
The request is available online at www.gtcountymi.gov/2822/Opioid-Settlement-Spending and as a downloadable PDF, the department said.
“Broad community representation and input are essential to ensuring opioid-related resources are used effectively and equitably,” said Mike Lahey, health officer for the Grand Traverse County Health Department. “This opportunity allows community members and partners to help set priorities, inform approaches and contribute to the committee’s recommendations.”
