MIDLAND — The JH Walker Foundation continued its annual holiday tradition by donating sleep sacks and car seats to MyMichigan Health, benefiting medical centers in Midland, Alma, Clare, Tawas and Standish.
This donation supports child safety, ensuring that infants leave the hospital equipped with essential resources for safe sleep and secure travel. Lindsey Walker, executive director of the JH Walker Foundation, emphasized, “Every baby deserves a safe start and we are honored to partner with our health care providers to help families and their little ones.”
Sleep sacks provide a vital safety alternative to loose blankets, significantly reducing the risk of sleep-related injuries for infants. Properly fitted car seats protect babies during travel, ensuring they are kept safe on the roads. These items are not just beneficial but critical during the earliest days of a child’s life, a period when they are particularly vulnerable.
Denise O’Keefe, executive director of MyMichigan Health Foundation, praised the donation, stating, “This generous holiday donation helps give parents peace of mind and supports our shared goal of protecting children from injury. The JH Walker Foundation’s ongoing commitment to infant safety makes a meaningful difference for families at a time when it matters most.”For many families, access to these essential safety items can be a challenge and the JH Walker Foundation aims to remove barriers and promote best practices for infant safety.
