ST. IGNACE — A snowmobile accident has claimed the life of a 61 year old man from Saline.
Michigan State Police said troopers from the St. Ignace Post were called to Bay City Lake Road in Clark Township to respond to a call for help.
Investigators said the snowmobile was traveling along Trail 47 when the driver hit a bump in the trail and was thrown from the machine.

Emergency crews provided medical aid at the scene, but the driver died. His name has not been released.
State police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
