LANSING — With winter weather increasing the risk on the roads, drivers are being urged to prepare before heading out.
The U.S. Department of Transportation said more than 70% of the nation’s roads run through snowy regions, making winter driving a widespread concern.
Experts recommend making sure your vehicle is ready for hazardous conditions. Drivers are encouraged to keep a well-stocked emergency kit in their trunk in case they become stranded. Items like jumper cables, blankets, a flashlight, food, water, and necessary medications can help keep you safe until help arrives.
