TRAVERSE CITY — The CherryT Ball Drop will take place on Dec. 31 in downtown Traverse City, Mich., marking the city’s 17th annual celebration to welcome the New Year.

The festivities will begin at 10:30 p.m. and will feature live entertainment leading up to a midnight countdown when a 600-pound illuminated cherry will descend, symbolizing the start of 2026.
Attendees are encouraged to make a suggested donation of $5, with proceeds benefiting the North Ed Foundation, which offers resources to students facing food insecurity.
This event has become a cherished tradition in Northern Michigan, drawing thousands of people together each year to celebrate beneath the glowing cherry.
