Biological mother of missing Rebecca Park arrested, awaits arraignment

WEXFORD COUNTY — The biological mother of Rebecca Park, and the last person to be seen with her before she disappeared, is now in a Wexford County jail awaiting arraignment.

Cortney Bartholomew and her husband Bradly are being held in jail awaiting charges likely related to Rebecca’s death.

Both were scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon, but that arraignment was pushed back to Tuesday.

Cortney told investigators she was the last person to see Rebecca alive before she disappeared.

9&10 News spoke to Cortney and Kimberly, Rebecca’s half-sister, back on Nov. 11, and her fiancée, Richard Falor, back on Nov. 6. They are now all facing charges in connection with her death.

Investigators say 22-year-old Rebecca Park disappeared the evening of Monday, Nov. 3, from her biological mom’s house on S. 21 ½ Road in Boon Township, in Wexford County.

At the time, after Rebecca was reported missing, her biological mother, Cortney Bartholomew, said it was after running errands with her.

“She’s like, Mom, hold up. I got somebody coming. And I’m like, what do you mean you got somebody coming? And she’s like, I got somebody coming to get me,” Bartholomew said.

Cortney said it was a black car with tinted windows that took Rebecca and she could not see who was driving.

Park’s cellphone was later found near Cortney’s house on some two tracks.

Kimberly Park, Rebecca’s half-sister, said Rebecca had disappeared before but usually kept in contact with someone.

“I honestly try not to think about what happened. I mean, she’s disappeared before, but someone always knew where she was, and it was usually me hiding her out,” said Kimberly.

Fiancée Richard Falor also said it was unlike Rebecca not to let someone know where she was.

He described the two as inseparable

“Me and her have been together for a little over two years, and even when she’s not around me, she’s always in contact with me,” said Falor.

Rebecca’s due date was Nov. 18, and Falor said he was worried about the well-being of Rebecca and the baby.

The day before she disappeared, she was at the hospital, having contractions, dilated one centimeter, but the hospital sent her home.

Cortney said she and others were working with the Wexford County Sheriff’s office on the large number of tips that came flooding in after a reward was put up.

At the time, a family friend had offered a $10,000 reward for any information leading to her safe return. That reward increased to $12,000 on Nov. 18.

“We are going to go through all the tips that have come in, what he thinks he should chase down, and what he just thinks he should disregard because there are hundreds of tips coming in, but nothing that solid,” Cortney.

Rebecca’s body was found on Nov. 25, several miles behind Cortney’s home. Falor and Kimberly Park were arrested the day after her body was discovered.

Park was charged with filing a false report and tampering with evidence. Falor was arrested on unrelated drug charges but is being held on a $1 million bond.

Now, Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew are in jail and waiting to be charged.

It’s not clear what role these four may have played in Rebecca’s death, and law enforcement is still looking for her baby.

Cortney and Brad Bartholomew are scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 pm. on Dec. 2. Charges are unknown at this time.
