Two men charged in self-storage theft in Haring Township

WEXFORD COUNTY — Two men have been charged in connection with theft involving a camper at a self-storage facility in Haring Township on Aug. 2.

Michigan State Police troopers from the Cadillac Post began investigating the theft after several items, including power tools and a crossbow, were reported stolen from the camper.

Surveillance footage from the storage facility helped identify the suspects as 30-year-old William Rawson II of Manton and 31-year-old Nathen O’Brien of Cadillac.

Rawson was arraigned on Oct. 17 and sentenced on Nov. 12 in the 84th District Court in Wexford County.

He faced charges including larceny of $1,000 or more but less than $20,000, larceny of $200 or more but less than $1,000, and a habitual offender third offense notice.

O’Brien was arraigned on Oct. 31 and is scheduled to appear in court again on November 25 at 10:30 a.m. He faces similar larceny charges.
