According to Traverse City Police, a 32-year-old city employee was found shot to death in the early morning of Nov. 16 in the 300 block of East State St.
Officers were called to the scene around 7:48 a.m. and identified the victim as Larry Boyd IV, who was an employee with Parking Services.
Investigators said evidence links this homicide to the attempted murder of a Traverse City Police Officer late Saturday night.
Police determined the 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were connected to Boyd’s death after reviewing security camera footage.
The 17-year-old was arrested outside a Super 8 Motel, while the 18-year-old was arrested on the Northwestern Michigan College campus.
Police said the firearm used in both incidents was also recovered.
Authorities reported no ongoing threat to the public as the shelter-in-place order was lifted.
