MOUNT PLEASANT — MyMichigan Medical Center in Mount Pleasant has earned national recognition for its emergency stroke care.
The hospital recently achieved Stroke Ready certification through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, a nonprofit that’s been a mark of medical excellence since 1986.
Hospital president Marita Hattem-Schiffman said the health systems certification ensures residents in Isabella County and beyond have access to high-quality, advanced stroke care close to home. “The certification reflects our commitment to providing life-saving treatment, especially for rural communities where quick access to care is critical.”
The American Stroke Association reports stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide, making a fast response vital to saving lives and reducing long-term disability.
