Alpena man arrested after police seize nearly a pound of cocaine

ALPENA COUNTY — A 56-year-old Alpena man has been arrested following a drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of nearly one pound of suspected cocaine, authorities said.

According to an Oct. 1 news release from Michigan State Police, the Huron Undercover Narcotics Team said Troy Wardlaw was taken into custody Sept. 29 after investigators intercepted the suspected drugs being trafficked into the Alpena area. Search warrants later led to the seizure of four pistols, additional suspected cocaine and evidence of narcotics distribution.

Wardlaw was arraigned Oct. 1 in 88th District Court in Alpena County on one count of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, between 50 and 499 grams.

The investigation included assistance from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post, the MSP Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Group and the Alpena Police Department.
