TRAVERSE CITY — The Good Bowl in Traverse City has added another non-profit the the list of organizations they donate to.
The Vietnamese restaurant prides itself on donating $1 for every signature bowl and bringing awareness to various nonprofits rooted in humanitarian and environmental efforts.
Soon Hagerty, who co-owns The Good Bowl, says they choose a new non-profit every quarter, with both customers, and staff taking part in the selection process.
Better Together is the most recent non-profit to receive a check from The Good Bowl. receiving $3,442 from the restaurant.
Better Together was created to serve disabled adults in Traverse City and the surrounding counties.
Better Together Co-Founder Sandy Albrecht-Conrad shares that the organization is all about uniting all the entities in Traverse City that serve this population, adding “their friendships can be developed and, they can have greater purpose to their days, and just build friendships and relationships. That’s what we’re all created to have, you know, and to to interact with one another so that we can continue to grow.”
Hagerty tells us this is her and her partner’s way of giving thanks to the U.S. after they took in their families as immigrants.
In regards to the donations The Good Bowl does, she tells us that you have to provide good food, but “if you can provide something in addition to that, I think everybody wins. ”
